Is paa a copy of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button?”, asked someone who just doesnt have much time to appreciate the efforts and wants to criticize each and every bollywood movie that comes his way.
No, its not. This movie is about Progeria,Its about relationships, emotions and above all its about life.
Progeria means ‘prematurely old’. Its a very rare genetic condition wherein a person’s body, strength, organs and physical apperarance grows 4-5 times faster than his age. Those born with progeria typically live about thirteen years, although many have been known to live into their late teens and early twenties and rare individuals may even reach their forties.
Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of this rare child who – at the age of 13 yr old boy, is heading to the end of his life with his body into seventies. Does this interest you? well I am sure nobody in this film industry would have even thought of playing this character.
It is not only about putting up the makeup everyday and acting infront of the camera, Its about feeling the character and the emotions going through the child’s mind and displaying it so perfectly on the screen that it touches everyone’s heart. Its a dazzling performance by Auro which will surely remembered for years to come and will be put up in history as one of the most challenging and brilliant performances by the God of Bollywood.
For not even a second can you make out that this is Amitabh. You are so involved in the story and the character, that you could actually feel the emotions of this child.
Honesly, people might give their reviews as “too-long” or “boring” or “poor-scripted”. But If go to the movie without the typical bollywood-masala expectations and just enjoy the individual performances, you will find this masterpeice a success.
It brings smile to your face when you leave, you feel like doing those monkey dances when you get out of the cinema hall and smile thinking that Auro would be smiling at you. This movie brings out a kid in you!
Lastly, I surely hope that this would bring back the AB Corp days and I welcome them back to bollywood.
You guys rock.
Watch it for Auro
So did you do the monkey dance once you came out of the cinema hall?
you tall thin loser!
Well said
It’s beautiful to watch these kind of movies which are more real than the dancing with a million dancers at the back and jumping around the trees! Honestly! I enjoyed the movie and also cried when Auro died. I think movie is well directed and Vidya Balan’s acting was too good.. Looked like a real mom to Auro. I must say she is a very talented lady. Elegant yet simple and protrays her acting skills in such a realistic manner. NOT TO FORGET, The Big B… AWESOME AURO! Superb character played by Amitabhji, I love him…. It was a meaningful movie on the whole. After a long time got to see a nice movie. The review is 100% true!
what kind of review is this and who worte, is this the movie reviews are written
Hey Manish, Why dont u check ur english first and come bk to tis topic?
I watched it recently…. i didnt like that much. Very rarely u get involved in movie. However no doubt Amitabh delivered great work. Unfortunately he was given less time on scree. Abhishek’s acting was as usual boring. He political part was un necessary.Ilayaraja’s backgound score was good. But not songs. Cinematography was nice. Over all will rate ** 1/2.
If possible watch CHAUKAT RAJA marathi movie. its 101% better than this. u completely gate involved in moive. Its not about progeria. Its about mentally retarted boy/men. Its played by Dilip Prabhawalkar(same person who played Gandhi in Lage raho munnabhai)
Well I appreciate all the efforts bollywood has taken , but i must say that your review is a little less researched Paa is infact similar to the movie Jack(1996 film staring Robin Williams) ,well at the very least ,they are based on the same idea .
The comment was written in haste, never knew somebody out there was checking my English. Now my mistakes, I left “it” after “wrote” and forget to add “way” after “is this the”.
Now coming to yours “and also”, “a very talented” ….use of indefinite article for a person who u have already identified is definitely bad English. One does not portray one’s acting skills, only a character can be portrayed. etc etc…
Hope we are not into an English class.
Well Apart from Amitabh, the movie is really boring, abhishek and vidya balan are really pathetic to bear in this movie. Good concept but wrongly choosen stars
